This category is open to currently-enrolled (the 2017-18 academic year) Texas High School students only.

Short Film entries should be a narrative, animation or documentary film that has a maximum running time of twenty minutes. (Non-English films featuring dialogue must include subtitles.) The Nacogdoches Film Festival has a policy of not waiving entry fees.

This is the second year for the High School Short Film Competition.

Fee Schedule for High School Short Films:

  • Early-bird — $10 USD
  • Regular — $10 USD

Dates & Deadlines

  • Opening Date — August 7, 2017
  • Early-bird Deadline — October 31, 2017
  • Regular Deadline — January 1, 2018
  • Notification Date — February 1, 2018
  • Festival Dates — February 22-24, 2018

Awards & Prizes
The winner of the HIGH SCHOOL SHORT FILM competition will receive a plaque. There are no cash prizes in the high school competition category.
